Join me as I moderate discussions on - Health and the Ocean - at the POP Ocean Virtual Summit on June 8, 2020. This event is an opportunity to mark World Ocean Day, celebrate voices, and amplify advocacy for sustainable protection of marine biodiversity; the interconnectedness between the health of the ocean and human health, especially drawing implications from the current pandemic; reduction of plastic pollution; implementation of solutions to sustainable fishing and tourism; ocean acidification; and sea-level rise to name a few. This session will explore general information about the relationship between the health of the ocean and human health. It will also discuss the impact of climate change on ocean health; and pertinent linkages between the ocean and the current COVID-19 pandemic.
