Service Description
This is a practical workshop on best practices for collaborating with local actionists in low and middle income countries. This workshop is designed for international NGOs, and funders. You will gain best practices on collaborating with folks like me! This workshop will also include insights from actionists from around the world! This workshop is split into 3 main parts: - The Hidden Costs of Community-based, Locally-led Conservation - Valuing Local Ecological Knowledge and Community Perspectives - Leveraging Privilege and Power to Amplify Community Voices Through interactive sessions, case studies, and facilitated discussions, the workshop will equip participants with the knowledge, tools, and strategies to: - Recognize and address the often-overlooked challenges faced by community-based conservation initiatives, while also identifying opportunities for synergies. - Develop effective projects for providing meaningful support and resources to community-based efforts. - Effectively include and value local ecological knowledge, community perspectives, into project planning and decision-making.
