Your  2026 Journal/Zine

It's like team building + creativity work + vision + strategy having a baby

INVITE TO CREATE_VW.jpg

This isn’t like your regular diary or planner. The “Invitation to Create 2026” is meant for anyone who’s got big ideas, wild dreams, and wants a chill space to sketch, doodle, and figure out cool stuff about their year. It’s half journal, half zine booklet, whatever you want it to be.

Flip to any page and you’ll find fun challenges, spots to learn from, fails, places to keep your epic memories, and ways to dream up, envision, and strategize random adventures. Draw, plan, go outside, or imagine your own superhero mission; it’s all fair game. No rules, no grades, no pressure, make it yours.

You can use it solo, with friends, or swap ideas and drawings, photos, and videos whenever. The best part: you get to be 100% real, as messy and creative as you want. Dive in, be weird, and see what kind of awesome missions you come up with this year.

Jason's Zine

Jason's zine front cover -2.jpg

I wrote Jason’s zine as a gift for him, so he can hold his own story and experiences, and keep them in honour of his contribution to science and his support for me. He appreciated it so much. Why wait until someone is no longer with us to show your appreciation?

Jason had a challenging upbringing and inadequate support at school. Nevertheless, he aspired to be a mechanical engineer but did not have the right opportunity to nurture this passion. We met, and our relationship grew from a foundation of community, creativity, and a genuine desire to care for one another. We both look out for each other's special needs, and that deep care is what makes our bond unique.

Jason assists me with Fish 'n Fins Inc.; he is my right-hand man. The children love his playfulness and creativity. He found his true love in fishing and spends every spare moment by the sea. In this zine, I share our work with Maka Niu. Jason is a research assistant at Fish 'n Fins and brings a scientific eye to observing fish behaviour. He discovered that the shrimps washing ashore with the sargassum were white sargassum shrimps, and the Cobler fish were feasting on them.

We did the first marine science expedition for the Montserrat Marine Megafauna Project in 2023. I will never forget his commitment and support for the project. In Jason's zine, I share photos I’ve taken behind the scenes of our work and research together, some of the lessons we’ve learned, and those we wish to share. A glimpse into our hopes and dreams is left for you to interpret.

Jason has been a muse, too; in fact, in a roundabout way, he’s the one who ignited this personal, fragmented storytelling style in me. Jason speaks in his broken dialect, our natural tongue, authentic as you would find in any person. I, with my imperfections and fair share of failure, am moving forward despite every setback.

This is Jason’s Zine, and I invite you to download it. Jason’s zine is just the start, my first “BLUE” zine series, made to encourage you to document your story, share it, and pass it on.

Community Environment Stewardship Initiative (CESI)

The guidebook is an all-in-one guide to community-led environmental stewardship, conceptualized and produced for the Montserrat Tourism Authority (2025).  It contains information about CESI, including our charter, goals, key activities, environmental awareness days, monitoring programmes, media engagement, and further resources. It also contains how-to guides for initiatives on reducing, reusing, and repurposing marine debris, advocating for environmental protection of Montserrat's marine assets, and creative storytelling. Everything you need to get started in caring for our lush ghauts, vibrant nature trails, stunning black sand beaches, and unique volcanic landscapes.

The aim of the poster is to improve engagement rates and reward benefits for members of the CESI, prompting organisations and individuals to take responsibility for their local environmental impact.

Effective stewardship involves collaboration among individuals, families, businesses and visitors to ensure our nature-based assets are preserved for future generations.
